THE BRAND
Taschen

TASCHEN is an independent publishing house founded by Benedikt Taschen in Cologne in 1980. The project was born from a small shop dedicated to comics and evolved to become one of the international references in illustrated publishing. The philosophy of the publishing house is to make art, visual culture and great editorial works accessible to different audiences, working simultaneously on compact editions, large format volumes, Collector’s Editions and publications made in close collaboration with artists, photographers and archives.

The TASCHEN catalog spans art, architecture, design, photography, fashion, cinema, music, pop culture, sport and travel. The graphics, printing quality and physical construction of the book play a central role as much as the content. Projects like the Basic Art Series have made quality art monographs more accessible, while monumental volumes like SUMO have redefined the concept of the collector’s book, turning it into an editorial object that interacts with interior design and collecting.

The TASCHEN selection on Setaccio includes illustrated books dedicated to photography, architecture, fashion, culture and major cities. Among the titles present are volumes on contemporary and modern architecture, Sneaker Freaker, Paris and New York, Warhol and Basquiat, Annie Leibovitz, NASA, James Bond and fashion history. Both more traditional formats and XL editions are available, designed for those who consider the book also as a visual and display object.

TASCHEN on Setaccio therefore extends the store’s selection beyond clothing, bringing a culture of image into lifestyle coherent with fashion, design and art. A proposal intended for those looking for books to read, consult and collect, but also objects capable of entering the domestic space permanently.
