THE BRAND
Pyrenex
Pyrenex is a French maison specialized in the processing of feathers and down, with a family history that begins in 1859 in Saint-Sever, in the Landes. Abel Crabos started by collecting goose and duck feathers in the markets and farms of the region; from this activity a expertise was born, passed down from generation to generation, until the creation of the Pyrenex brand in 1968. The processing of down remains today the technical and cultural core of the company.
In the Saint-Sever manufactory feathers and down are selected, washed and enhanced through a controlled process, while part of the garment production is carried out directly in France. Since 2020 the manufactory has been recognized with the label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, awarded by the French State to companies that preserve production skills of excellence. The brand also uses natural French down recovered as a by-product of the food chain and works on criteria of quality and traceability.
The Pyrenex selection on Setaccio focuses on men's and unisex down jackets. Vintage Mythic, Sten and Helium are present, models made in France with polyamide outers and constructions designed to offer warmth without excessive weight. The assortment is completed by some caps in blends of viscose, mohair and cashmere produced in Italy. The Vintage Mythic represents the most heritage interpretation, while Sten and Helium offer a more essential and contemporary register.
Pyrenex on Setaccio therefore represents a French culture of down built on over 160 years of experience in the raw material. A proposal for those looking for warm, light and functional outerwear, supported by a specialized supply chain and a manufacturing expertise deeply rooted in the territory.
