A bit of history: It was the post-war period when Giuseppe Gatti began breeding silkworms in the attic of his home, then selling the cocoons to the Brianza mills. It was at this moment that a family friend found him work at a hosiery factory. The name of this dear friend in dialect was “Marculian” and in his honor we named our product line Marcoliani Milano. Since then more than 60 years have passed and the children, Erminia, Paolo, and Carlo, have been able to carry on the legacy of this precious knowledge by making it their own and interpreting it in a family-run business reality capable of combining deep artisanal expertise with the most sophisticated technological knowledge.
