THE BRAND
Department 5
Department Five is an Italian brand born in 2007 from the meeting between Mario Cangini and Nicola Silvagni, two figures linked to the fashion culture of the Romagna Riviera and the historic boutique Space. The project initially started as a laboratory to experiment on a few signature pieces and transformed in 2013 into a structured collection. Its identity combines workwear, military references, musical culture, and attention to function, seeking a balance between everyday garments and unconventional stylistic research.
The production is linked to the experience of Catria Confezioni and the washing and dyeing skills of Lavanderia Adriatica, Marche realities specialized in technical treatments for clothing. Premium fabrics, dyes, finishes, and pattern making are therefore central elements of the project. The Department Five wardrobe is designed to be used over time: trousers, outerwear, and jersey are built with functional proportions and details derived from the military world or work uniforms, but reinterpreted in an urban key.
The Department Five selection on Setaccio focuses especially on Made in Italy trousers. The Prince model is the main reference and is offered in stretch cotton, corduroy, poplin, cotton-linen, and more structured fabrics. Alongside the trousers, cotton T-shirts are present, maintaining an essential and coherent proposal with the character of the brand. The different compositions allow a transition from a clean chino to more textured and seasonal versions.
Department Five on Setaccio therefore represents Italian casualwear built on the quality of the material and the culture of treatment. It is a proposal for those looking for trousers and everyday garments with a recognizable fit, functional details, and an attitude that mixes workwear, music, and manufacturing tradition.
