A bit of history: It is the postwar period when Giuseppe Gatti began raising silkworms in the attic of his house, then selling the cocoons to the Brianza silk mills. It was at this time that a family friend found him a job at a hosiery factory. The name of this dear friend in dialect was “Marculian” and in his honor we named our product line Marcoliani Milano. Since then, more than 60 years have passed and the children, Erminia, Paolo, and Carlo, have been able to carry on the legacy of this precious knowledge by making it their own and interpreting it in a family-run business capable of combining deep artisanal expertise with the most sophisticated technological knowledge.
